New Beer Friday, Crush & Press Edition (August 24)

If you live in the environs of Beer City USA and are thinking about making wine from fresh grapes this fall, there are options available for home vintners who are looking to source locally grown fruit. Here is the contact information for Taylor Ridge Vineyards in Allegan and Morgan Vineyard in Coopersville, both good sources for fresh wine grapes:

We will be offering the free on-site use of our fruit crushers and basket presses from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on four consecutive Sundays in the parking lot behind the store. Dates for the free use of the equipment are as follows:

  • Heavy Seas Blackbeards Breakfast Porter, $4.89/12oz - "Blackbeard's Breakfast is a robust porter with a new world twist. Aged in bourbon barrels and brewed with Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company's Dark Sumatra coffee, this porter is flavorful and complex. Featuring unique English malts, this brew will have strong notes of caramel and a slight nut character.
